As usual, the backtrace implicates 5701Ethernet although the dependencies vary.Īnonymous UUID: 098E627C-FC86-0EFD-240A-6112F4DEC4C2 The panic reports are not all the identical, but the one below is representative and was triggered by shutdown. I have also tried resetting SMC by unplugging, to no avail. Prior to High Sierra, Sophos would cause a noticeable performance slowdown when updating, but no other problems. I have reviewed similar topics here and tried uninstalling Sophos Antivirus, although from the panic report below it appears that the Sophos kexts have not been removed. As I write this, the lost data from that drive is being restored to a new Time Capsule using Stellar Phoenix running on my laptop. The error message was 'Mac OS X cannot repair this disk'. The panics started occurring about two weeks ago, at the same time I had a partition on a Western Digital external HDD become corrupted upon waking from sleep. In either case, kp occurs during the shutdown and leads to an immediate restart. Since the OS upgrade I have experienced frequent kernel panics, and can reliably reproduce these without any running applications, simply by entering sleep mode or shutting down. I had no problems whatsoever since installing the machine until upgrading to High Sierra. I added 16GB of after-market RAM (for a total of 24GB) about 8 months ago, which seemed to be a completely smooth upgrade.
